In our apartment in Cambridge, we started throwing weekly roommate dinners that quickly escalated into epic opportunities to out-gourmet one other. As spaghetti became hand-pulled ramen and hamburgers transformed into pork belly sliders, we knew we had to share this with a larger community.
In March 2012, we launched Social Colander, an event series and digital platform. The mission: to celebrate the everyday chef and bring good people together around good food they cook. We’ve been featured in local press, won a micro-grant from the Awesome Foundation, and we've thrown seven successful dinners with tickets selling out in less than 24 hours. We're currently partnering with a major network to shoot a pilot for a potential series. More to come soon!
